Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) at CSIR-NBRI, has high end analytical instruments and extends research support to academic institutes, R&D organization and Industries. CIF is NABL accredited and well equipped for physico-chemical instrument analysis of various products.

CSIR-NBRI Central Instrumentation Facility
During the last decade, there has been a tremendous upsurge in the study of plants as source of medicines, nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, cosmeceuticals, biopesticides and several secondary metabolites. Institute has Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) with high tech and sophisticated instruments to cater the services to the institutes/organizations/individuals. CIF is NABL accredited as per requirement of ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 for testing and ISO 17034: 2016 for RMP and well equipped for physico-chemical and analytical analysis of various plant based products. Under this facility CSIR-NBRI provides the services for the analysis of essential oils, vegetable oils, herbal drugs, and heavy metals using sophisticated analytical instruments like GCMS, NMR 600MHz, IRMS, TD-NMR, GLC, HPLC, HPTLC, ICP-MS, LCMS/MS, Flash chromatography, TEM, SEM, UV spectrophotometer, and Stereomicroscope etc. In addition, CSIR-NBRI has developed state-of-art infrastructure required for molecular biology as well as development of transgenic plants and their further characterization.

NABL – Accreditation
NBRI has been accredited since 2008 as per the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 for testing (link) and ISO 17034: 2016 (link) from NABL (National Accreditation Board for Calibration and Testing of Laboratories) Department of Science and Technologies (DST), Govt. of India, New Delhi.
